Momma, I'm Comin' Home

While it is time for another GrataTuesday post, I thought I would share some pretty big news with you instead...

Big may be an understatement, huge doesn't seem to cover it either. This is colossal, gargantuan, life-altering, reticulated python-sized news!

The last 360 days have been some of the most difficult, uncertain, challenging, yet rewarding days of my life. Many of us have faced some challenges that we have never expected to face.

The last 360 days have seen me scared to death about the lockdown and the effect it would have on the events that we had scheduled for Nashwaak Valley Farm, worrying about what the future would hold for my fellow outreach educators all over the country; my friends and family, creating two amazing summer camp programs, missing my first blues fest in fifteen years, missing my first Ylue feast EVER, moving on to a very different job, starting my university degree, my baby sister getting engaged, dreaming about being able to get back to doing the educational programming that I love, forging some amazing friendships and now Nova Dawn has a home!

There are so many things to be excited about it's difficult to hold still long enough to get them all written down! This spring will be a whirlwind of excitement, hard work and heavy lifting, but Momma, I'm com
in' home! Kelly and Pierre (50% of the League of Elders) and myself will be taking up our new permanent residents during the first week of May. The move brings us all back to Nova Scotia and me back to Annapolis County for the first time in almost twenty years, and Bear River won't know what hit her!

The barn needs some work on the inside, including removing the wood stove that was put in by the former owners(they weren't using it as a barn at the time), putting in stalls, a run and working on the chicken coop as well as running fence, putting in a new garden and many coats of paint.

I am so excited, it's more difficult to concentrate than normal. There is so much to do that I keep stopping mid-stride to write new things on the to-do list. There will be plenty of updates in the upcoming weeks, so keep an eye out.

We are weeks away from having in-house animal, educational content, and I couldn't be more ecstatic!

I can't wait to see my girl again!
