GrataTuesday-Because GrataThursday just sounds wrong.

The League of Elders

It truly is amazing when you sit back and think about all the people that have helped shape your life.  Some people are there your entire life, others for just a short time.  For today's " Ooops I missed Tuesday, because I'm a working student and trying not to stress myself out" GrataTusday, on Thursday feature, I present to you my League of Elders.

Before I introduce the LoE, I have to pay homage to a young man who decided to take a break on a sunny hillside one August afternoon.  A few weeks beforehand, that young man and I were stumbling through an enchanted clearing and discovered the temporary dwelling of the Fairy Dread mother.  A lovely soul who had a Prius and a spinning wheel. Most would agree that taking ones spinning wheel camping is a bit out of the ordinary. If we only knew how very normal it would seem in our future. Garth took an interest in spinning after that weekend and acquired himself a drop spindle; a small handheld device used to spin fleece into wool. He decided to sit one afternoon and watch a group of living history interpreters. That's where it all began. In this particular case, Garth did do it, and I will be forever grateful he did.

While I would usually want to give each individual their own GrataTuesday post, I feel that the LoE deserves to be honored as a family group, because well...they are.

Jenny, Jayar, Kelly and Pierre described to the unknowing, for simplicity's sake, as my Aunts and Uncles. They are a strange highbred of parents, siblings, lifters of heavy things, fashion designers, best friends, teachers, cheerleaders (and now all I am able to envision is Jayar and Pierre in short skirts and pompoms...it's both hilarious and horrifying), sounding boards, bartenders, bankers, financial advisers, mentors, and an odd collection of human Encyclopedia Britannica.

Jenny - bipedal dictionary, maker of hats, keeper of cats, curator of Narnia and hoarder of unsuspected inappropriate jokes.

Jayar - the ever forbidden pourer of margaritas, keeper of ties, bringer of snacks, giver of the world's best hugs and slayer of toxic masculinity.

Kelly - maker of stays, keeper of standards, preparer of foods, parent to all - mother of none, counter of stitches, lover of shoes and runner with scissors.

Pierre - maker of coffee, resident speaker of French, walker of dogs, packer of cars, voice of reason and lover of the "other" hockey team.

They are all supporters of dreams, and I don't know what I would do without them!
